#2 Kay Rufai | Bringing art into spaces & to people that have been excluded from it
Description
Today’s guest is Kay Adekunle Rufai - an artist, a photographer, a poet, a writer, a filmmaker, and a mental health researcher. His art is often found outside, where anyone walking by can touch it and engage with it. With his S.M.I.L.E-ing Boys Project, he wants to change the narrative around how Black boys are perceived by society. Kay is also the first artist in residence with the West Midlands police in the UK. This challenge gives him the opportunity to change perceptions, shape minds, and build bridges between the police and marginalized communities.
